Oh my, you have to love that grin.

Gracy (WCAC ID: 103775)
Gracy (WCAC ID: 103775)

“I’m a pretty girl and as sweet as sugar too. Must be why my foster mom calls me moon pie! She say’s I’m all that and I’m a great house guest.

“I’m house trained, Love to go on walks and say hi to all the neighbors and my kiddie friends. I live with my foster sister and “The Cat”! I love them both! I’m very polite with my sister even when she steals my stuff. I just wait for her to find something else then I get it back. I’m not a rough houser and I prefer to just play tug and chase toys. Squeakers are my favorite and I LOVE my octopus!

“As you can see from my pictures I like to be goofy. “The Cat” is fun and I like to push him with my nose until he swats me! I hang in my crate while mom is at work and I sleep there at night. Give me a little peanut butter in my kong and I’ll race you in there! I’m quiet as a mouse and don’t fuss at all!

“My foster mom says I don’t have a mean bone in my body and nothing bothers me.

“If you’re looking for an all around great girl- then I’m the one! I’m already spayed, up to date on my shots, rabies and micro chipped! What more can you ask for? If you’re interested, you can email us at WCACfoster@yahoo.com.”

Marcy

WCAC ID: 85589

Marcy (ID: 85589)
Marcy (ID: 85589)

I’m told that Marcy is not a Pit Bull so why would I post her during Pit Bull Awareness Month? I say most mixes have a smidge of a Pittie look and after being in the shelter system since March of 2013, sweet Marcy deserve every break she can get!

“Hi everyone, my name is Marcy and I am an awesome dog. At least that’s what my foster mom says. I’ve been with the shelter for a long time and not really sure why.

“I’m a fun girl, loyal, listen well, am focused and attentive, take treats nicely, crate trained, house trained, not destructive, good on a leash and play nice with other dogs who respect my boundaries. Isn’t that the kind of stuff that people look for in a dog?

“The only thing I’m not really fond of is kids. I prefer an adult home where I can chill and relax with you after a nice walk. Have a fenced yard? Even better. I like hanging out on the deck in the sun in my foster home almost as much as I like running around with my foster brother.”

If you are interested in meeting Marcy to see if you’d be a good match, please contact her foster mom at wcacfoster@outlook.com.

Sometimes you just gotta let them speak for themselves.

Rhonda (WCAC ID: 103252)
Rhonda (WCAC ID: 103252)

“Hello, I’m Rhonda and I’m fond of really wonderful people like yourself and wouldn’t you know I’m on the market for a wonderful family!

“I am a lovable, spunky girl just looking to love and get loved back! I KNOW SIT and WALK GREAT ON LEASH! I also APPEAR HOUSETRAINED too! I am treat-motivated, so I see lots of fun-filled days ahead with you as you teach me new commands!

“I have been polite around other dogs I’ve met during my walks, but always proper introductions and adjustment time are very important to me when I’m making new doggy friends!

“Radically, Rhonda”

Mac

WCAC ID: 102686

Mac (WCAC ID: 102686)
Mac (WCAC ID: 102686)

Mac is a wonderful 2 year old male who is great with other dogs and cats. He is a shy guy and took a while to come out of shell but is a complete baby! He is very playful and enjoys running on trails and greenways. He is house trained and crate trained!

This 65 pound guy prefers to lay on you rather than next to you but will cuddle up either way. He will need socialization even after adoption especially with males (of the human species that is). He has never once tried to bite as a response to a situation that was uncomfortable to him (as many situations are uncomfortable this is significant) and will in fact cower from strollers, small children, bikes, etc.

Being that his first response is to get away, Mac needs a kind heart to help him work through his fears and continue to learn how to love life. While he isn’t the easiest case he deserves to know a good stable family who will spoil and dote on him.

If you are interested in learning more about Mac or to arrange a meet and greet, please email afureverfamily@yahoo.com and we will put you in touch with his foster mom.

Haylee

WCAC ID: 98141

Life threw sweet three year old Am Staff Haylee a curve ball when the apartment complex her family lived in changed the rules and they had to take her to the shelter.

Haylee (WCAC ID: 98141)
Haylee (WCAC ID: 98141)

Life threw her a better pitch when she found herself in a terrific foster home. Her foster mom says that Haylee is crate and house trained as long as you keep her on a schedule. She walks well on a leash with the right walking harness. This super treat-motivated girl has also learned SIT, DOWN, and STAY!

“I love the outdoors so I would love a family who likes to stroll in the park and takes trips to the beach because I LOVE TO SWIM! I would also love it if I can ride with you to the store because I love car rides and meeting new people. I just love it when they pat my head and rub my belly because they think I’m so adorable.”

Her foster mom also says she is good with children so she may be the perfect family dog you are looking for. She’s doing well with her canine foster brother and sisters, but may do best in a home with a polite and playful male pal for me to become BFF with! She will also need a cat-free home.

“Like chocolate, I can be very irresistible, so I don’t plan on being on the market too much longer in search of my forever family, so let’s set up a meet and greet at email shavonte@yahoo.com or if you just want to chat about how amazing I am. I look forward to meeting you and stealing your heart TODAY.”

Lacy

WCAC ID: 101890

Lacy is an adorable eleven month old Am Staff mix with a huge white blaze on her chest and the tips of her paws, but I think I’ll let her speak for herself.

Lacy (WCAC ID: 101890)
Lacy (WCAC ID: 101890)

“Hi, I’m Lacy!

“I’m a 11 month old girl who’s looking for a fun family! I’m about 50 lbs and oh so sweet. You might notice that in some of my pictures, I am missing some fur. That’s because when my foster parents got me, I had a skin issue and I was underweight. But I’m all better now!

“I adore people and I get along well with other dogs. I live with my foster parents and their 2 dogs and we are great friends. I am a big goofball and sometimes I get really excited when I play, so I’ll need a doggie playmate that doesn’t mind a little rough-housing! I also love to eat and I am an excellent swimmer. My foster parents take me to the lake and sometimes I just swim circles around the dock because I love it so much!

Lacy (WCAC ID: 101890)
Lacy (WCAC ID: 101890)

“I am still young, so I need time to exercise and play each day. I know SIT, DOWN, WAIT, and PAW. My foster mom makes me wait for my food, so I have learned to have some patience. I am potty trained (as long as you take me out on a schedule) and crate-trained. I am working on walking better on a leash, although I will need practice in that area. I also need a home with no cats. And I get a little excited around small children, so I’d do best with older ones. But I am a rockstar on long car rides!

“What’s most important is that I will LOVE you so much. I am a precious girl looking for my forever home. If you think that’s you, please contact my foster mom at kforrest520@gmail.com. Hope to see you soon!”

Rico Love

Tic Tac here again. My mom ran off with Rico’s foster mom yesterday on some big secret mission, so I’m here today to tell you about Rico Love.

WCAC ID: 101481

Rico, is a lovely, calm-energy boxer mix looking for his human soul mate!

Rico Love (WCAC ID: 101148)
Rico Love (WCAC ID: 101148)

He’s a great laid-back buddy to take on walks/jogs around the neighborhood and he walks pretty well on his leash, too. Rico should be in a home without cats or larger dogs; a nice boy like Rico deserves a lot of love. Rico is reward-oriented and will sit and lay-down for his favorite toy and treats.

He is a mature dog who is crate-trained, house-broken, and will not climb on furniture unless specifically invited. In fact, he is happy to relax with his human friends by falling asleep at their feet.

One thing Rico is working on is controlling his prey-drive as he loves to chase wild-life when outdoors. However, overall, Rico is a very balanced dog that will accommodate many households/lifestyles. He is already neutered and his adoption fee covers his vaccinations, microchip and more.

Rico Love (WCAC ID: 101148)

Rico is a little over four and a half years old, a Boxer mix, and has been in the shelter system since early April. If you are interested in learning more about Rico, please email my mom at afureverfamily@yahoo.com and she will put you in touch with his foster mom.

Tyson

WCAC ID: 101250

My name is Tyson and I am … A Big Teddy Bear!

Tyson (WCAC ID: 101250)
Tyson (WCAC ID: 101250)

I was in the shelter for 30 days and I was heartbroken that I didn’t have a home. I stopped eating and lost weight and got depressed. But I got a foster home and I like it here a lot. I love my walks and all the neighbors in my neighborhood think I am awesome. I like everyone – adults, kids and dogs. My foster family has a little Chihuahua who did not like the last dog that they found and brought home, but she likes me. I can sit, I take treats gently, and I am good on a leash.

Tyson (WCAC ID: 101250)
Tyson (WCAC ID: 101250)

Best of all I do not get on the furniture or steal food even when I could very easily get it off the kitchen table. I am very polite that way. I have showed no interest in toys but I love a peanut butter Kong every day! I am a very low energy guy who loves to lie out on the deck at my foster parents’ house while they are outside. If they go inside I have to go too. I like to be with people and because I lost my home I keep a close eye on my foster family. I cry when I can’t see my foster mom, but I think the longer I stay with her I will become more secure and know that she is coming back for me.

Tyson (WCAC ID: 101250)
Tyson (WCAC ID: 101250)

My foster family really loves me. What’s not to love — I am a love bug! I love to have my belly rubbed and give sloppy wet kisses. I would love a forever home where someone is home most of the day. Remember I am great with other dogs and all people! Last thing you should know about me is that I am heartworm positive. But please consider me anyway because it is not my fault that I have heartworms, and there are treatment options.

Do you know the song “Me and My Broken Heart” by Rixton? The song reminds me of myself: “All I need’s a little love in my life.” I have lots of love to give to you. Will you be the one to love me and give me the forever home I am so deserving of?

Adrian

WCAC ID: 100993

Yep, another Landfill Dogs pup who we just can’t understand why since last March she has been in the Wake County Animal Center (WCAC) system.

A letter from Ms. Adrian herself …

“Well hello there, my name is Adrian and I want to give you a few great reason as to why you should adopt me TODAY!

“Reason number one, I am adorable! I mean how could you resist this sweet face?

“Reason number two, I know SIT and walk fairly well on a leash!

“Now reason number three is, I am very treat-motivated, so teaching me tricks for me to show off to all your friends should be fun and fairly easy. And I can guarantee you I will look good doing them!

“Have I convinced you yet? Wonderful! So how about we get out of here and I can continue to give you all the great reasons why I make the perfect pet at home TODAY! My adoption fee includes my spay surgery, vaccinations, microchip, and more. I’ll meet you at the car!

“Admirably, Adrian”

Kasper (WCAC ID: 996694)
Kasper (WCAC ID: 996694)

Kasper is such a big, lovable, goofy boy. He is a total people dog. His favorite things to do include cuddling with his people, playing with his people, and going places with his people.

He’s an American Bulldog / Am Staff mix who is about four years old and about 60 pounds. He’s mostly white with spots of gray here and there and pretty much everywhere.  Kasper is heartworm positive, but there are options for treatment.

Kasper’s foster mom says he is one smart cookie. He knows SIT, DOWN, and COME. His continued education includes learning WAIT, TOUCH, and LOOK. Additionally, he walks GREAT on a leash and sleeps soundly in his crate through the night.

If you’d like to learn more about sweet Kasper or meet him, please contact his foster family at loveandadopt89@gmail.com.
